New Zealand born Kiri Waiata-Green is passionate and driven to teach the benefits of using sound and voice to “tune in and tune up” thereby improving confidence, self-esteem, communication and over all wellbeing.
This has been achieved when working with at risk teenagers at the Deception Bay Flexible Learning Centre during 2012, almost 4 years with Reclink Australia’s choir The Transformers and at the Numinbah Correctional Centre in 2015.
After having sung with Mt Nebo based Peace ‘n’ Choir for more than 15 years Kiri decided it was time to start her own community choir and Brisbane based acapella choir Te Tira was formed in 2013. Word of Mouth based in northern New South Wales followed.
It was not long before she began composing for her choir and this songbook is a natural progression having found inspiration, joy and a knack for getting people singing.
Her mission in life is to save the world one choir at a time……
